A label, a code, a chip — any single authentication signal, used in isolation, can only answer one question: does this pass? It has no visibility into the factory that ran extra units after hours, the authorized product sold outside its intended region, or one valid signal copied and replayed across thousands of counterfeits. Brand protection that begins before the product is even created

Traditional authentication validates products after they enter the market. EON shifts protection left, governing whether a Digital ID should ever be issued in the first place — binding identity creation to real production authority rather than checking for fakes after the fact. Done well, this closes off overproduction, shadow-factory runs, rogue serialization, and counterfeit-serial leakage before any of them reach a shelf.

On-product authentication is where a product proves itself directly to the person holding it — and EON orchestrates every method available, rather than betting on just one. Verifiable QR codes, encrypted NFC, RFID, and optical AI image recognition can all attach to the same Digital ID, each contributing its own signal to the product's authenticity record. EON doesn't perform the image recognition itself — it connects to the optical AI providers who do, and folds their result into the same governed score as every other signal.

EON keeps going — tracking scan behavior, ownership, and custody over the product's full life to confirm it's not just genuine, but behaving like a genuine product should. Geospatial anomalies, scan frequency, and historical comparisons against known counterfeit patterns feed a continuous record, while a verified ownership and custody chain carries that trust through every transfer, resale, and service event.

The Authenticity Index is built from the ground up — real data sources feeding real signals, grouped into trust layers, resolved into one score. ERP and PO ledgers, factory devices, camera and QR capture, optical AI, geo and network data, and EON's own registry all feed a defined set of signals: PO-bound serials, authorized factories, hidden markers, optical-AI matches, scan geography, duplicate-QR detection, and more.
